Terry Taplin’s Secret Council Meeting Poetry Journal

CM Terry Taplin is a professional poet and in November’s election, he was demoted from private citizen to Berkeley city council member.

During a recent Council Meeting, the investigative team at The Bunion spotted, in a reflective surface behind Taplin, pages from what appears to be a journal of poems written during meetings.

Using The Bunion’s advanced computer vision algorithms, we were able to reconstruct the poems despite the skewed angle and poor lighting.

District 5, WTF?

Sophie talks too much.
My life is slipping away.
Will this never end?

Kaleidoscope

I’d like to give the Mayor
A kaleidoscope
To help him see his priorities
More clearly.

Bikes

My constituents write about bikes a lot.
Wheel eating potholes.
Unsafe street plans
Stolen bikes.
Chop shops.
Why aren’t we talking about that?

Public Comment

Next to this,
Hell doesn’t seem
All that bad.

To All the Millenials

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
It be like that sometimes.
It really do.
