“Scavepreneur” Steve Kettlefish Anxious For Rains To Return To Thin Competition For Frisbee Retrieval At Aquatic Park

Scavepreneur – one who scavenges and creates a market for found, stolen and repurposed goods.

Steve Kettlefish is a self described Scavepreneur, He deals in many markets including pallets, bike parts, and all kinds of recyclables, but his favorite market is frisbee retrieval from Aquatic Park. A good frisbee can capture $8-18 on eBay, and there is a nearly endless supply of stoner millennials errantly tossing discs into the water as they play one of the most challenging frisbee golf courses in the Bay Area.

The drought has created easy pickins, and yielded stiff competition for Kettlefish. Not only is the water at Aquatic Park lower than in years past making the likelihood of disc loss lower, the lack of human waste flushing into the reservoir has de-risked frisbee retrieval for other scavepreneurs.

Kettlefish, who claims to have developed an immunity to waterborne pathogens is anxiously awaiting the return of the rains. “The e. Coli outbreak that I am expecting once all the RV waste flushes from the storm drains and into Aquatic Park after we get some rain is really going to thin out the competition. I should be in hog heaven once the city posts the annual water quality warnings that scare off other scavengers.”

The photo of this RV, taken 9/7/2018, which initially had Florida license plates, and now has none, and is still parked in the 6th and Harrison area has been leaking and dumping raw sewage since it arrived in Berkeley.

For now, Kettlefish will have to wait and watch frisbee golfers and other users enjoy the park without fear of life threatening illness, as there is no rain in the forecast. Not to worry though, he is getting by in the “used” bike part market.
